Just Another Job

What a depressing article. I have many Filipino friends who often talk about "going home" and buying a big house with 6 maids... and one of my younger Filipina friends was moved home in her early teens, she said it was uncomfortable having a house maid that laid her clothes out each morning and evening, helped her dress, cleaned for her, and made her bed...all things she had been taught to do as a child, now being stripped away for another woman to do for her. In the article it was hard to read about the ways these young women are treated, and the laziness of society. It really upset me when I read the story of the young girl who took care of the infant and the mother became jealous and took him away...emotionally that must have been a heavy blow to absorb so young.
