Our Babies Ourselves

In the article Our Babies Ourselves the author examines the similarities and differences in childcare amongst a few diverse cultures. What is discouraged in one culture is often found reliable in another. I found it really interesting that regardless of the way the children were raised, one common ground stood out, In every culture all of the children advanced and grew up regularly by standards, with no emotional or physical distress. The article pretty much stated that just because you don't view the way another raises their children correct, doesn't mean it is necessarily wrong, and the facts show this. I enjoyed reading about the Gusii women, these ladies bore children every two years on average, with the usual result of 10 live births. Insanity...
